Day 30 - Daily Creative Journal

Day 30 - Triangulate. Only work with triangle shapes
today- or make a triangle with a bunch of stuff.

Fun with Triangles. I fell like I should add
some text to this page but nothing has come to me yet.
In the pockets I added a couple Flexogans made out of triangles.
You can make your own with this tutorial.

Day 29 - Daily Creative Journal

Day 29- Working with words. Make an image with just words
or letters. You can cut them from magazines, draw them
yourself or print out words on a computer to work with.

Created in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
This one took me several days to complete but
I'm happy with the end results.

Day 28 - Daily Creative Journal

Day 28 - Make a rubbing by placing paper over rough objects
and using charcoal or chalk to pick up the details. Gravestones
are the classic source for this technique.

Husband and I went to a local park. I took rubbings
from a tree, a park bench, bricks and stones. I then used the
textures as the background for this journal page.

Day 27 - Daily Creative Journal

Day 27 -  Work on the other hand. Pick a medium you've comfortable
with, then work with your non-dominant hand - if you
usually favor your right hand then only use your left and vice-versa.

Medium used - watercolor pencil. This was a lot harder then I expected but
the poppies didn't turnout too bad.

Created in Illustrator and Photoshop.

Day 25 - Daily Creative Journal

Day 25 - Take a five-minute walk, then make something
using whatever materials are available where you're ended up.
Leave it there for someone else to discover, but be sure to document it first!

My husband and I went for a walk at the Lacey, WA community center.
There we found a bike trail along with some random walking trails. I created
this using weeds, sticks and rocks. It was fun getting back to nature.

Day 24 - Daily Creative Journal

Day 24 - Make something with a stapler. You can staple
things together or heck just work with loose staples.
Even the stapler itself can be transformed.

Here is the front and back of my final project
(I thought the back was just as interesting as the front)
Materials: Colored staples, stapler, black and card stock.

Day 23 - Daily Creative Journal

Day 23-Mail art! Take an existing postcard and alter it. then send it to a random address (or anonymously to a friend, after documenting it., of course.

I put Gesso over the ferry in the shape of WA. This was a
great solution to not being able to find any Olympia postcards.
I also added the black boarder and red swirls. I <3 art="" comment-3--="" mail.="">

Day 19 - Daily Creative Journal

Day 19 - What can you do with a candle? Try using the drips form a lit candle
to make an image, or use an unlit one to draw on a porous surface, then make the
image appear with watercolor or in. Or, as always, feel free to experiment.

Here is my candle/wax project. My husband and I took an Encaustic class a couple years ago. I used some of the same techniques for this project.  Materials: Electric skillet, crayons, brush, blow torch carving tools and candles.

Day 18- Daily Creativity Journal

Day 18 - Work with numbers today. You could make an image using numbers,
make something into number shapes, do something involving a calculator, or....?

Day 17- Daily Creativity Journal

Day 17 - Make something that would not normally be considered cute
and cuddly into something that is.

Monday, June 15, 2015

Day 15- Daily Creativity Journal

Day 15 - Personal page (not from the 356 book)

I started this as a background for the puzzle prompt but I didn't have the
heart to cover it with puzzle pieces as I originally planed.

Day 14- Daily Creativity Journal

Day 14 - Work with mistakes. Spill some ink, milk or other liquid
and then go from there.

Day 13- Daily Creativity Journal

Day 13 - Flip to a random page in a book at hand and
make something inspired by the first sentence you read.

Phil. 3:21 is what I flipped to.

 3 upside-down and she's a little lopsided . :)

Day 12 - Daily Creativity Journal

Day 12 - Use fingerprints/thumbprints to create an image or portrait.

I only used a brush to lay down the background color, the rest was done with fingerprints
and finger-painting. :) It didn't look like much in the beginning but I pushed through it.

Day 11_ Daily Creativity Journal

Day 11 - Connect the dots. Make something only using dots. The dots
could be stippling form a pen, the circles cut from paper using a
hole punch, or even small, round price stickers.

Here is my solution. I think it turned ok. I like the pink and orange combo.
Working with dots and circles can be a lot of fun and that's
what I tried show with this page.

Day 10_ Daily Creativity Journal

Day 10 - Work with only the classic tangram shapes.

Trangram is a classic Chinese puzzle composed of seven flat geometric shapes, which can be rearranged to make a variety of images, usually provided only as silhouettes. All of the shapes fit together as one large square and are often stored that way.

This one was a hard for me. It was difficult creating recognizable shapes with the smaller shapes. First project in a long time that made me feel uncreative.

Day 7 - Make a childhood creation. Use materials and supplies that
you might use as a young artist.

I used an Avengers coloring pages I got in my stocking last Christmas along with crayons, watercolor and a gold metallic marker. My inner child artist also thought Iron man would not be complete without Red glitter paint so I added that as well. :)

--- I made up this journal prompt, it's NOT part of the 365 book.

Day 3 _ Daily Creativity Journal

Day 3 - What is your favorite animal? Use it as your inspiration today.

It's no secret that I love butterflies. However, for this project I didn't want to just draw a butterfly but to use the pattern as my inspiration. I love the contract between the oranges and black.
